My Jack-a Lope

I know i have probably written about Jack before and all his glory and splendor, but i am doing it again. :-)

These pictures are again from a while back, but it just embodies Jack, my little Jack-a-lope, and his funny, creative personality.

Jack is truly my funny guy. Anyone who knows him can understand this and sometimes the funniest thing is in his facial expressions. He talks like he's 30, but still mispronounces many things. He copies phrases he hears and applys them to wrong situations, but it just ends up making him all the cuter and funnier.

Jack likes to make people laugh. He knows when he's being talked about and totally plays into it. He has a genuine love for people and animals and even if at first he pretends shyness it doesn't take him long to be your best friend.

He is passionate about super-heros and believes he is one himself. He has a cape we made together out of an old t-shirt and "flies" through the room, eager to fight any bad guys that may come along.

He also likes to graffiti himself and frequently will come into the room with his hands behind his back and head hanging low with a smirk on it to come and confess that he's colored all up and down his arms and even sometimes his legs. In these pictures i just let him go at it. He wanted to paint and it was great because he filled every inch of space on his paper and then apprently because he'd runout painted himself too.

Jack is 100% full force boy, goodness, passion, and love. He is the only child i have had that will every single day without being prompted tell me he loves me and hugs me.

I know that Jack will be a great force for goodness in this world. I know he will do many great and courageous things and will be a fierce defender of truth. He is loyal to the end and i look forward to seeing him grow into the man i know he will one day be.

Dance Parteeeeeee, Er, I Mean.....Baby Shower......

Wow, another blog that was a lifetime ago (j/k, but not really).

My dear, beloved, friend, Amanda, whom i hold dear to my heart was getting ready to welcome #3 (now named Amanda Lynn) into the world and so we of course had to throw her a baby shower to celebrate and supply her for the next few months with goodies and love. :-)

Seen as we did this not that long ago from when she was pregnant with Evelyn, i decided to skip the "traditional" games and whatnot of a shower and instead opted for good food and friends. All was well.....and then Sara, grandma-to-be for the thrird time, suggested the game of all games for us all to play.....

"Just Dance" on the Wii!

Yep, that's right and even Amanda participated, although i'm pretty sure she was just tryng to go into labor. ;-)

There's not much else to say other than it was one of the most entertaining times i have had at any shower (even with my awesome poopy diaper games that i usually do). The pictures speak for themselves. Thanks to all involved and for everyone for being such good sports. You women are amazing and are definitely my favorites! :-)

The Gardening Club......

Well, not really, but i am thrilled to have my mother here who was my mentor and founded my desire for gardening. She has a love of gardening from her father and now it seems that Eden has a love of gardening from me! :-) Edy is always eager to help plant and dig, and even weed from time to time. It makes me happy to see her learning such an important and useful skill and to enjoy doing it at the same time.

This year we have much more land to work from and i no longer have to garden in plant pots on the porch. We are lucky that the owners of the house we live in were also gardeners and pretty much already had a designated spot for a large garden which all we had to do was till and weed.

This year my goal is to can as much spaghetti sauce as possible for food storage and so i have 34 tomato plants, most of which are Romas that i grew from seed. I also have i think 8 green pepper plants, and numerous cucumbers growing and butternut squash. I also have a rhubarb plant that i love, but have never grown before, but it will be 2 or 3 years before i will most likely be able to harvest that. In addition to our vegetables we have a variety of herbs growing. We have basil (my favorite), parsley, oregano, greek oregano, dill ( although it's not doing too well - gardening tips welcome on that one), mint, blackberry mint, chocolate mint, and......i think that's it. :-)

All about John & Nicola

Well, John is the extremely handsome red-head, of course, and I'm the little one in front of him! John is a marriage and family therapist and I am a domestic engineer as well as a dental hygienist. We met in June of 2000, were engaged by the very end of September 2000, and were married December 16th 2000. We have four lovely children as you can see below and love life and all that it has brought and taught us! We love to talk, have friends over, cook and eat food, camp, and pretty much do anything as a family.

All About Edy

She is fun-loving and pretty much always wants her way (who doesn't) and 90% of the time it works out well as she's a good girl with righteous desires and is extremely responsible and mature for her age. However that 10% of the time where we actually don't agree on something, she can be a little devil! She is a huge help with Jack as these two are best buds! Jack likewise adores her and she is the only one out of his other siblings that he'll let parent him. Eden is also in the fifth grade and loves to read. She has a passion for horses and all animals really and also loves to cook and bake.
