Trying to get some nice pictures taken...kinda hard, but I suppose I knew what I was in for. With all the kids under the weather and Jack ready for a nap I had to resort to bribes! Jack pretty much had a Hershey's chocolate bar in his hand the whole time and had finished it by the time we were done and Eden needed a S'more to convince her to smile because she was unhappy that she was told to take off her winter snow boots for the photo! Immanuel as usual had a hard time focusing long enough to actually look at the camera, even when I'm screaming, "LOOK AT MOMMY, LOOK AT MOMMY!!" And perhaps because Sarah's also not feeling well her smile looked more like she was in pain. But I'm glad I did it anyway as Jack snuck in one of his classic mischievous grins, and that made it all worth while. Man I love this boy! At least he was happy to be outside before he had to take a nap.

Photo Shoot...maybe?

Secret Preparations and Happy News...

So i can't say too much about this post because someone will find out, but we are making a surprise for Daddy and let's just leave it at that. Jack's new favorite past time is telling me he wants to be on the potty (which he calls the bath) but then also expects me to strip him naked every time he sit so n it. He's moody right now because he's sick, well we're all sick, so instead of fighting with him to put them back on when he was done i just let him be naked. We taking a bath soon anyway. Hopefully he won't pee on my carpet before then! They are all at the table right now coloring and i laughed and told the other kids that they're gonna get sprayed if he whizzes! Eden said, "MOM!" and Immanuel said, "Whizzes?" I don't think I've used that term around them before. I laugh now, but probably not if he actually does pee on them!
On another note, I became an Aunt again last night as my new beautiful niece, Zoe Michelle Burnett was born. She was born at 3:05pm. PDT and weighed, 7lbs 2oz, and measured 19in. She has a head full of black hair, just like her brother Evan did, and so far as i know everyone is doing fine. Congratulations to my sister Louise, and her husband Matt and my nephew Evan.

Paper Clips and Role Playing...

So we finally got to some school today but not before they made forts and these beauties! We watched a Netflix documentary yesterday about a school in Tennessee that made a Holocaust project. It was called Paper Clips and they collected 6 million paper clips (with the help of people all over the world, even Anne Frank donated some too) to represent the 6 million Jews that died. One of the kids had the idea to make these. Then there's the two pictures of Eden and Sarah and their new baby slings they put together all by themselves. Inspired by Marissa Robert, who just had a baby and uses a sling, and donated by Jennifer Sclater, who gave the bandannas to the them for Brittons third birthday party. So cute!
Okay Day two...
So you have to be patient with me on this blog as i pretty much have no idea what I'm doing or all the neat little add ons etc. that people have to make their blog look interesting too. I'm open to help, advice, and tips.
So the daily happenings....right now High School Musical - "I Don't Dance" is blaring in my home on Pandora as per the request of my 7 yr old and 4 yr old daughters, although my two sons seem to be enjoying it enough too! Right now Jack and Immanuel are wrestling (Jack's favorite past time) and I wonder how long it will take before someone is crying. Eden and Sarah have got my old camera and are "taping" themselves dancing to now Miley Cyrus. And I, instead of doing home-school with them am typing this blog! But it's pretty entertaining and I'm glad that they all get along so well and they learn as they play too, so it's all good. I did make my bed this morning and make them all breakfast and folded laundry and even squeezed in a bit of Pride and Prejudice that I'm currently reading. So despite the fact that i still haven't showered and am still in my PJ's i guess i shouldn't feel so bad.
Well i really should get them going on some school. Immanuel and Eden are in second grade and Sarah is only four and so even though we've been doing work all year i haven't decided whether she's been in kindergarten all year or pre-k. So we'll see after this summer how well she does at reading and perhaps this fall she'll be starting first grade. Okee Dokee, more next time and some pics too!

The Beginning...
Well i don't know how this will go...what with Facebook, our own family website, email, etc. it kinda seems like another "thing" to occupy my time that perhaps i don't need, but on the flip side it may be a way to keep an online journal so to speak. More to post tomorrow!
