I LOVE Making New Friends and Growing Friendships...Our Osborne Family Invite!

My first Osborne Family outing...bout time really, i've only known them for just under two years! I learnt that day that it was Katie's first "play-date" ever! So we were both due for some good fun and I know we all I had a great time, well minus Katie getting burnt to a crisp so that we could chat in the lake and simultaneously keep an eye on the kids, that i felt bad about...a little anyway. ;-)

They took us up to Big State Park in Maynardville, which i never knew existed before and we got to swim for free! I LOVE free things! There's so much to do up there, but we stuck to the water for the day after having a picnic. Thanks so much for the invite, I'm definitely doing this again. By the end of the day we were burnt, I was tired from catching kids jumping off docks, and Eden said her eyes were cloudy (too much swimming under the water!), and yet they still pouted when it was time to leave. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

The swimming group (some went to fish instead)
L to R: Immanuel, Aurora, Deuce, Katie, Sarah, Eden, Jack.

Getting ready to jump in!

Hmm...playing or taking a peek? LOL!

Jack LOVES Katie. She was his nursery leader at church for a good while.

Such a FUN day!
Makes me miss that i grew up on a lake in NJ...
The water even smells the same....ah, so nice!

COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED!
Just they way i like them! ;-)

FAIL BLOG!

No really, real, in-my-life, FAIL BLOG right here! If you don't know what FAIL BLOG is, then google it {ha, ha, for all my twilight friends out there, ;-) } Anyway, John frequently when he's bored, or probably just waiting for me to finish blogging, looks at fail blogs and particularly when he's laughing so hard he cries, i go over to him and see what the fuss is about. They're pretty funny, often painful, FAILINGS at various things.

So on Tuesday i FAILED at parenting. For some reason i thought that only Jack and Sarah needed sunblock and boy was i wrong! The picture above? A poor unsuspecting back, er yeh, it was toasted after 2 1/2 hrs of playing in the lake. Eden faired a bit better, but only because her bathing suit by default covered more.

The results are directly below, followed by joyous times with the Robert's Shoultses, and Whites. Needless to say i did run to the store right afterwards and purchased Aloe Gel (which by the way is REALLY expensive, criminal really!)

Well we had a blast while we were there at least. Sometimes the best lessons learned are through making mistakes. I just wish my poor children weren't the aftermath of my neglect! I'm just glad i didn't and really couldn't given in to Eden's protests to stay for a total of 4 hours instead of just 2 1/2. They would have been crispy for sure! Better luck next time!

Look at their poor faces! Their back were even worse! :-(

Everybody, everybody!

Um...he's peeing and as a result being very distraught because he has no diaper on!
We rinsed him off and he soon began enjoying the lake too!

Snack time!

more snacks....

Marissa Robert, a truly amazing woman and friend.
It was her home we played at as she lives right on the lake front.
