FAIL BLOG!

No really, real, in-my-life, FAIL BLOG right here! If you don't know what FAIL BLOG is, then google it {ha, ha, for all my twilight friends out there, ;-) } Anyway, John frequently when he's bored, or probably just waiting for me to finish blogging, looks at fail blogs and particularly when he's laughing so hard he cries, i go over to him and see what the fuss is about. They're pretty funny, often painful, FAILINGS at various things.

So on Tuesday i FAILED at parenting. For some reason i thought that only Jack and Sarah needed sunblock and boy was i wrong! The picture above? A poor unsuspecting back, er yeh, it was toasted after 2 1/2 hrs of playing in the lake. Eden faired a bit better, but only because her bathing suit by default covered more.

The results are directly below, followed by joyous times with the Robert's Shoultses, and Whites. Needless to say i did run to the store right afterwards and purchased Aloe Gel (which by the way is REALLY expensive, criminal really!)

Well we had a blast while we were there at least. Sometimes the best lessons learned are through making mistakes. I just wish my poor children weren't the aftermath of my neglect! I'm just glad i didn't and really couldn't given in to Eden's protests to stay for a total of 4 hours instead of just 2 1/2. They would have been crispy for sure! Better luck next time!

Look at their poor faces! Their back were even worse! :-(

Everybody, everybody!

Um...he's peeing and as a result being very distraught because he has no diaper on!
We rinsed him off and he soon began enjoying the lake too!

Snack time!

more snacks....

Marissa Robert, a truly amazing woman and friend.
It was her home we played at as she lives right on the lake front.

Iman getting ready to jump off the dock. They had so much fun!

Family Home Morning...

Having Family Home Evening on Monday nights is sometimes hard to achieve with John's new work schedule as he's done at 8pm on Monday nights. So sometimes we shoot for a Tuesday morning instead. This week's family home morning activity was making more homestarrunner.com characters. Immanuel made about 4 of them for John for his birthday and has been wanting to make more and so as Daddy was in charge of the activity this week he decided we'd do another one and the general consensus was "The Poop Smith." Yep, that's his name and yep, that's what he does too. Anyway here are the pics. The kids had a great time. It's now hanging in the girls room. Next Family Home Morning...Strong Sad!

Sarah and Momma made the head...

Strong Bad emails DVD that Immanuel loves to watch.
This was our template for the characters.

Now we have the mouth....

All finished!

Daddy Daughter Date

John has promised Eden that he would take her out on a date if she tried really hard not to have an attitude with either of us for a week (she's been a bit whiny as of late). Eden tried really hard, and actually did quite well and so Saturday evening the night before Father's day Eden and John went out.

Eden got to pick what she wanted to do, and after she realized that the rock climbing gym was in Knoxville and didn't want to make the hour drive to get there she settled on seeing Karate Kid at the movie theatre and then dinner at Dairy Queen.

She came back that night very late (about 10pm or so i think) BUT very happy. It was so fun to see the look on her face as she walked in the door with her daddy and her purse on her shoulder. She was all smiles and came up to me and gave me a big hug and said that she had SOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun. She was like, "MOM, i can't stop smiling!" It was really cute and she was so smiley you'd think she'd just been proposed to!

What a fantastic day to pre-celebrate Father's! John you are an amazing father! I am so glad to be married to a man who loves his children and spending quality time with them. Next month Immanuel and I are planning on doing the same. ;-)

Before they left...

Outside at Dairy Queen...too cold inside apparently!

Being Stranded...Not So Bad.

So on Saturday despite our many plans for fun, we were stranded...we decided to take a walk around our relatively new neighborhood. It is so beautiful here in Tennessee i just can't stand it! I took several pictures of various wild flowers etc., but i will post them in another blog. Here's just a few of where we live and of course our cute kids! We were on our way to see the "neighs" that are at the end of our road (although probably over a mile one way), however after about 20 mins of walking and sweating a great deal (well i was anyway) because of the near 100% humidity, we turned around as thunder clouds showed up. We were lucky we turned around when we did because not more than 15 mins after we got back to the house it poured! We'll make it to the "neighs" on a less "sweaty" day soon (or not so soon, sheesh!). Fall will be fun here!

Waiting for Eden...

Ready with her new walking stick she found and painted...

Ha, ha, it's so hard to get a picture with them ALL looking and smiling at the same time...

Rocks....why are they so fascinating to little ones?

The Silver Arrow...

Immanuel has pack meeting next Tuesday and had one thing left to complete in order to receive his first silver arrow patch. It had to be done by today if he was to qualify and so last night we went through the cub scout book to see what he could do to achieve this.

After a few minutes i came across the elective of learning to tie a tie! At first i thought, "I don't know, surely there is something easier to do than this." But then i reminded myself that i was 8 or 9 when i learned to tie a tie as we had to wear them for middle school in England. So i asked Immanuel if he'd like to learn and he was actually very excited about it.

I literally had to show him only twice! And then, he proceeded to pull out all his ties that he owned that weren't clip-ons and practice over and over again. I have to admit, I think he's better at it than I am!

Way to go Immanuel! Now this pack meeting he will not only get his Wolf patch (as he finished all his requirements), but he also now gets his Silver Arrow!

His first go of it..

He was so pleased with himself...on the road to becoming a man! ;-)
