Yes, yes, Sarah's birthday was in July, but like i said i'm playing catch up.
We decided to go all out for her this year and we had quite a crowd attend the festivities. We went with water fun and had a slip and slide. Sarah of course wanted a different rendition of a monkey cake and so i once again had to get creative with my very limited skills, especially seen as she cannot have any food coloring. Anyway she had a fabulous time and we are very grateful to all that came and showed their love and helped celebrate.

Sarah's Daddy/Daughter Date....
Well Sarah patiently waited since Eden got to go with Daddy on a date to have her turn. Sarah got to pick the evening's events and she chose to see Megamind at the movies and then go for a sundae at Sonic afterwards. She had a great time and Daddy even spoiled her by allowing her to illegally ride shotgun and even took her shopping for some new jeans! What an awesome father, i mean what dad delights in shopping with his daughter? I seriously don't know how they (Eden and Sarah) will even find someone to match the awesomeness of their Dad when they are old enough to think about marriage (who am i kidding they already do think about marriage!) ;-)
This date had been planned for a whole week and every day Sarah would check with me how many days were left until her date and finally on Friday the day of the date, she said to me with giddiness in her voice, "Daddy might even let me get popcorn!" Oh the simple pleasures!
John, thanks for being an amazing father and therefore by default also an awesome husband! :-)

The Spinning Bride...
It's hard to imagine that Sarah is now the age that Eden was when we first moved here to Tennessee. I remember all too well when Eden fit into this "wedding dress" that was a hand-me-down dance recital dress left-over from our good friend Crystal. I have some fantastic black and whites of Eden in it.
This day however, it was Sarah's turn to be the bride. I believe there was some music on and anyway she decided to show off her beauty by spinning. Then i brought out the camera and told her to keep going and not stop. She thought it was a blast and was giggling almost the whole time (well whenever she wasn't saying "Whoa, whoa!" anyway, lol).
The real treat will be the day that i get to see her do this for real! Oh how i love my little Sarah!

Four Years Old Plus Two Birthdays Still Makes Five Years Old...
Sarah was a little spoilt this year as her birthday party was two weeks after she turned 5. Because i knew she wasn't old enough to appreciate not celebrating her birthday when she turned 5 (she had been counting down the days for MONTHS!) she got to have a cake on her real birthday and open presents we had for her and then she got her "Monkey Cake" (Sarah is in LOVE with monkeys) on her party day.
The weather held out (which i was very grateful for) and instead of rain we got 104 degree weather (well, with the heat index anyway)! Needless to say our plans for the sprinkler were well received and most of the kids had a great time getting good and wet.
It's hard to believe my youngest daughter is 5 already and at the same time i think, she's still so young and yet i feel like she's been in our family forever. It's funny how time goes by.
Well, Happy Birthday to my sweet, lovable, feisty, cuddly, moody, blue-eyed, curly-topped, Sarah-Bearah! These past 5 years have been an absolute delight and an adventure! I look forward to the rest of forever with you!

Sarah's pick for the Family Home Evening song.

it was quite warm and despite setting the AC below 70,
the house still said it was over 80 degrees!!
Thanks to everyone that came and made it a special day for our Sarah!

Mother in the Making...
One evening I was looking for Sarah and turned into her room to find this glorious picture you see above. Luckily for me, she is still partially deaf from when her ear drum burst and so she didn't even see or hear me sneak up, until I went away to get my camera and then took the first picture and the flash went off. I LOVE that she was pretending to read to her baby. It touches my heart so much and life becomes all the more rewarding when I come across sweet moments like this one. As I was posting this picture I also noticed the monkey haven she has going on here. Monkey quilt, monkey pillow, monkey pajamas, Curious George in the background, and then she turns the page for me to see and she's even reading about monkey's! I love this little Monkey of MINE!!
